Stiftskeller St. Peter

Stiftskeller St. Peter lies in Salzburg and is claimed to be the oldest inn in Central Europe, likely the oldest in Europe and perhaps the oldest existing restaurant in the world. Operating since 803, Christopher Columbus, Johann Georg Faust or Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart are said to have been served at the restaurant.

Throughout its existence, the restaurant was forced to close several times, as when it became the headquarters of the French troops during the Napoleonic invasion of the early 19th century. St. Peter Stiftskeller offers an attractive mix of innovation, good food and selected wines.
