The history of Absinth

The drink of choice of visionary artists such as Van Gogh, who believed Absinth acted as a muse to their creativity. Absinth was popular among those on the fringe of society, also becoming the first spirit socially acceptable to be drunk by women. Since its conception, Absinth has developed a reputation as a spirit that transforms a room´s atmosphere to one of intrigue and mystery.

What is the absinth ritual?

What you need is a special absinth spoon (or a teaspoon), a sugar lump, a lighter and a glass of water for a recommended final dilution. Dip a sugar lump in absinth on a spoon and then light it. Sugar will thus change into sweet caramel which should be mixed with the drink potentially diluted by water.
